Yuzhou Wu, MS

PRACTICUM TRAINEE

Yuzhou works under the supervision of Dr. Galya Cohen (PSY33946). Yuzhou Wu is a dedicated psychotherapist with a strong foundation in psychology and extensive clinical experience. His commitment to advancing mental health care is unwavering. Currently pursuing a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) at The Chicago School, Anaheim Campus, Yuzhou holds a Master’s in Applied Psychology from Southwest University in Chongqing, China. He also holds licenses as a mental health counselor and individual in China.

Yuzhou has gained valuable hands-on experience in diagnostic and therapeutic services through practicum placements in university mental health centers. Yuzhou focused on clinical interviews and therapeutic services for college students, providing crisis interventions and conducting individual and group therapy using cognitive-behavioral and psychodynamic techniques. Professionally, Yuzhou has served as a psychotherapist in hospital and counseling center environments, providing individual and group therapy for young adults and adults with various mental health disorders, including depression, anxiety, and OCD. Yuzhou integrates therapeutic approaches such as psychodynamic therapy, person-centered therapy, and mindfulness-based cognitive therapy. Additionally, Yuzhou specializes in individual and couple therapy, addressing issues like depressive and anxiety disorders, relationship problems, and self-esteem issues. Yuzhou also delivers psychological lectures to the public and participates in case consultations and supervision sessions.

Yuzhou's unique blend of academic knowledge and practical skills enables him to offer comprehensive mental health services. Fluent in Chinese, Yuzhou is dedicated to helping clients achieve psychological well-being through personalized and evidence-based therapeutic approaches. His ability to provide a wide range of services instills confidence in his clients, ensuring they receive the best care possible.
