RACHEL KWON, PSYD

CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST

Dr. Rachel Kwon (PSY33823) is a licensed clinical psychologist. She graduated from University of California, Berkeley with a Bachelor’s in psychology. She then earned her Doctorate in CLinical Psychology along with a Masters in Clinical Psychology from Biola University’s Rosemead School of Psychology. 

Dr. Kwon has worked in various treatment settings, including university counseling center, inpatient psychiatric hospital, community mental health centers, and residential rehabilitation centers. She also has experience working with the underserved, low-income population in Skid Row, Los Angeles and treating a broad range of psychological concerns including depression, anxiety, trauma, schizophrenia, and substance abuse. She completed an APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship at San Bernardino County Department of Behavioral Health where she conducted assessments and individual and group therapy to children, adolescents, and adults. Her postdoctoral training included provision of comprehensive psychological assessments to children and adolescents for the diagnosis of Autism SPectrum Disorder, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, and learning disabilities, as well as parent training and behavioral modifications for children with behavioral or attentional issues. 

Dr. Kwon seeks to create a safe, non-judgemental place for clients to process and gain insight into their experiences and emotions. SHe draws from various therapeutic orientations, such as psychodynamic, attachment-based, dialectical behavioral, and cognitive behavioral therapy, in order to individualize her treatment approaches based on each client’s specific needs. She is passionate about providing culturally sensitive and trauma-informed care to those who come from diverse backgrounds. She can also provide psychological services in Korean.
